Terms of Use

Last updated: 8 August 2026 · Draft, pending legal review

This text is a draft. It describes the product's intent and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.

1. What you are agreeing to

By using KempDec Markdown ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The app is offered by KempDec ("we").

2. What the app does

It is a markdown text editor that runs on your device, with PDF export. It requires no sign-up and sends nothing you write to any server of ours.

3. What you write is yours

You remain the sole owner of your documents. We claim no rights over them, do not read them, do not use them to train anything, and have no access to them — they live on your device.

4. The app is ours

The app, its code, the KempDec brand, the KempDec Markdown name and the visual identity belong to KempDec. Using the app transfers none of those rights to you. Copying, redistributing, reselling, decompiling or creating derivative works of the app without written permission is prohibited.

5. Acceptable use

You are responsible for what you write and what you share. Do not use the app to produce or distribute unlawful content, or to infringe the rights of others.

6. Price

The editor is free, on every platform, with no watermark and no document limit. Organisation features for companies, when they exist, will be paid and contracted separately — and no editor feature will be moved behind a paywall because of that.

7. Beta version

The Beta is distributed for evaluation. It may contain defects, change without notice and be discontinued. Keep a copy of anything that matters.

8. Warranties

The app is provided "as is", with no warranty that it will run uninterrupted or error-free. This does not remove the rights granted to you by Brazil's Consumer Protection Code.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for data loss, lost profits or indirect damages arising from use of the app. Losing a document is the real risk with this kind of program: keep a copy.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may discontinue the Beta at any time.

11. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Venue is the consumer's domicile, as provided by the Consumer Protection Code.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms: contato@kempdec.com.
